Account Director – Maritime Crisis Management – London

As an Account Director you’ll be a trusted advisor, delivering strategic crisis management solutions, media training, and tailored response strategies to maritime clients.
This is a client-facing position with no direct reports, but you’ll play a key role in mentoring and guiding junior team members, helping them build their skills in crisis management.
The role is based in the London office five days a week, and involves regular travel to meet clients and manage on-site crisis situations.
While this position requires a strong professional presence, they offer a flexible environment that accommodates life’s needs.
What You’ll Do:
As an Account Director, you will be at the forefront of crisis management, leading efforts to guide clients through complex and high-pressure maritime incidents. You’ll leverage your deep maritime expertise to advise clients on operational, reputational, and regulatory challenges, offering practical and actionable solutions.
In addition to crisis management, you’ll play a key role in preparing senior executives for media engagements. By delivering tailored media training, you’ll ensure they are equipped to handle tough public-facing situations with confidence.
You’ll also develop and implement customized crisis management strategies that align with the specific needs of each client, drawing on your in-depth maritime industry knowledge.
While business development is not the primary focus, you will be expected to identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships, drive trust, and help expand the scope of services we offer.
About You:
You have significant experience in the maritime industry and a deep understanding of its operational, regulatory, and crisis management needs.
You’ve managed high-pressure scenarios before, offering practical solutions while working closely with senior executives.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can juggle multiple priorities with ease. Your proactive approach to client relationships will be key in identifying opportunities and helping the business grow.
Additionally, you have some experience in PR, communications, or marketing, particularly in how these areas intersect with crisis management and client communications.
This will help you deliver tailored strategies and media training that meet the specific needs of maritime executives.
