Shipping Analyst (Dry) – Dubai
 
We are seeking an experienced Shipping Analyst to join an established team in Dubai. In this critical role, you will provide essential insights and analysis on developments, changes, and trends in the bulk shipping market to assist the commercial team in strategic planning.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with commercial and chartering teams to understand opportunities for value creation
• Conduct research and analysis on data/trends in specific trades, carrier types/sizes, and commodity sectors
• Write market analysis reports and presentations for internal stakeholders
• Generate regular market reports with commentary identifying opportunities, macro-economic/geopolitical impacts, and focus on bulk shipping sectors like dry bulk, chemicals, gas, ammonia, biofuels
• Develop data models, perform statistical analysis on potential/emerging markets, and provide recommendations
• Gather information on biofuel demand, production, trade, and consumption
• Prepare presentations for external stakeholders
• Produce weekly updates covering latest news, projects, economic trends correlated with Baltic freight assessments
• Engage in database generation, management, modeling for forecasting and machine learning
• Monitor evolution of biofuel markets, impacts of agriculture/environment/energy policies
• Monitor fuel price market trends and green shipping/sustainability activities
• Attend industry events to enhance commercial shipping knowledge

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in International Trade, Economics or related discipline from an internationally recognized university.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar shipping analyst role.
• Strong analytical, research, data modeling and presentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools/techniques
