Operations Executive (Dry Bulk) – Dubai
 
We are seeking an experienced Operations Executive to join a team in Dubai.
 
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and handling daily vessel operations, ensuring voyages are planned and executed efficiently, saving costs and time, and leading to optimal fleet turnaround.
 
Responsibilities:

• Daily supervision of the allocated fleet of owned and chartered vessels, ensuring the company’s interests are protected in operational matters.
• Handle daily vessel operations at sea and in port, from fixture stage to completion of the charter.
• Liaise with all concerned parties to ensure smooth loading, discharging operations, and efficient turnaround.
• Evaluate stow plans to ensure optimal cargo lift on the vessels.
• Maintain close communication with port agents for efficient handling and staying updated with port requirements.
• Monitor voyage and vessel performance, including speed/consumptions, as per charter requirements.
• Ensure strict compliance and adherence to the Charter Party.
• Liaise with onboard masters for smooth operations, including stow plan preparation, bunker planning, hold preparation, and voyage instructions.
• Ensure smooth correspondence between owners, charterers, vessel managers, and others, handling queries promptly.
• Invoicing for hire, freight, Laytime calculations, and following up on outstanding balances and operational debts.
• Handle claims, Charter party disputes/discrepancies, speed/consumption claims, and liaise with insurance companies and P&I clubs as instructed.
• Liaise with port agents and bunker suppliers to ensure seamless bunker operations.
• Maintain close coordination with the chartering and finance team, flagging any deviations from the estimated fixture.

Qualifications:

• Master’s/Bachelor’s degree/diploma from an internationally recognized university in Trade, Logistics, Shipping, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar role in Operations in Ship Owning/Operating or Broking Desk.
• Good understanding of post-fixture Operations and Charter Party terms and contracts.
• Knowledge of maritime accounts for post-fixture operations and execution.
• Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work in a team and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and preferably familiar with IMOS or similar.
• Good follow-through, attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to meet timelines.
