Team Head, Post-fixture Operations – Dubai
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Team Head to oversee all aspects of post-fixture shipping operations for tanker and bulk vessels. This is a crucial leadership role responsible for managing a team of professionals, ensuring contractual compliance, optimizing vessel performance, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of post-fixture professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Oversee voyage execution for tankers and bulk carriers, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and regulations.
- Coordinate closely with charterers, brokers, owners, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth cargo operations.
- Supervise tank cleaning for tankers and cargo handling for bulk carriers, optimizing efficiency and turnaround times.
- Resolve disputes and issues arising during post-fixture operations, protecting the company’s interests.
- Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure timely issuance of laytime calculations and freight invoices.
- Stay updated on industry developments, technologies, and regulatory changes affecting tanker and bulk shipping.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the post-fixture team.
- Handle claims and disputes arising from charter party agreements.
Qualifications:
- Master Mariner with 8-10 years of shore experience in tanker and dry bulk ship operations (tanker experience preferred).
- Proven leadership and management experience in post-fixture operations.
- In-depth knowledge of tanker vessel operations, including tank cleaning, and bulk vessel cargo handling practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize competing demands.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications and systems (e.g., IMOS).
- Certification from recognized maritime institutions (e.g., Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers) is a plus.
