Team Head, Post-fixture Operations – Dubai
 
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Team Head to oversee all aspects of post-fixture shipping operations for tanker and bulk vessels. This is a crucial leadership role responsible for managing a team of professionals, ensuring contractual compliance, optimizing vessel performance, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of post-fixture professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Oversee voyage execution for tankers and bulk carriers, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and regulations.
  • Coordinate closely with charterers, brokers, owners, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth cargo operations.
  • Supervise tank cleaning for tankers and cargo handling for bulk carriers, optimizing efficiency and turnaround times.
  • Resolve disputes and issues arising during post-fixture operations, protecting the company’s interests.
  • Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure timely issuance of laytime calculations and freight invoices.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, technologies, and regulatory changes affecting tanker and bulk shipping.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the post-fixture team.
  • Handle claims and disputes arising from charter party agreements.

Qualifications:

  • Master Mariner with 8-10 years of shore experience in tanker and dry bulk ship operations (tanker experience preferred).
  • Proven leadership and management experience in post-fixture operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of tanker vessel operations, including tank cleaning, and bulk vessel cargo handling practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize competing demands.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and systems (e.g., IMOS).
  • Certification from recognized maritime institutions (e.g., Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers) is a plus.
