Finance & Accounting
There are two types of finance functions in the maritime sector – those that are responsible for marine finance and whose functions include responsibility in relation to vessels and voyages such as time charter hire, freight billing & collection, demurrage collection and marine accounting.
There is also corporate finance, which is more traditional and the type of finance found in any organisation outside of the maritime industry. This function is responsible for the company’s finances such as credit control & cash management, financial reporting, audit, taxation and treasury.
