Head of Port Logistics – Middle East

Our client is looking for a Head of Port Logistics to join their team based in the Middle East.
 
You will be responsible for managing the onshore operations of the port to provide services to Port Users. This will include vessel and equipment scheduling to support the loading and discharge operations, as well as leading the daily cargo operations to ensure they follow the plan agreed and resolve issues that may arise.
 
You will also be responsible for leading the implementation of HSE regulations and procedures, overseeing the safety of operations, planning, and budgeting for port operations, and overseeing the delivery of customer service. The role will also include establishing documentation of records or ship call/port services as well as contractor management of the outsourced operations contractor to ensure performance is in line with the contract.
 
Experience
 

  • Minimum 10 years work experience in either port operations, supply chain management or freight logistics, of which minimum 5 years shall be in a supervisory position. 
  • Good knowledge and demonstratable understanding of the maritime industry, port operations, freight, and logistics

Project Manager – Middle East

Our client is looking for a Project manager to lead and manage an entire conversion project modifying the Main & Auxiliary Engines to allow dual fuel burning capability in addition to the existing heavy fuel oil for the fleet.
 
You will be responsible for acting as the Owners focal point for the project technical and commercial/ contractual matters and engage with Charterers and project stakeholders, including the JV Partners, class and other Vendors.
Managing project timelines and milestones, whilst providing regular updates to Company Senior Management.
 
Key Result Areas

  • Reinforce the company’s position in the industry as an exemplary model for driving safety, efficiency and flawless execution throughout our core business of shipping hydrocarbons.
  • Deliver the overall DF Conversion project safely, on time for individual vessels and within budget to ensure that Company is the provider of choice for customers.
  • Accurately assess the benefits of efficiency measures and act accordingly, without exposing the company and customers to high-risk investment.
  • Provide informed advice and recommendations to other departments involved in the conversion project.
  • Builds and maintains sound relationships with Charterers and vendors.
  • Act as a key role in the Company Center of Excellence.
  • Participate actively in the ESG task Force and Company Environmental Working Group.

 
Qualifications:

  • Minimum Executive MBA in Project Management/ Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering with sound reference of major modification/conversion projects in the LNG Shipping Industry (Major Conversion/ FSRU).

 
Experience:

  • 6-8 total years of experience required in project management.
  • Minimum 5 years in senior managing position within the LNG industry.
  •  Minimum 5 years’ shore experience in high value Project Management related role.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and communication skills both oral and written English
  • Computer literacy – MS Office, MS Project and Visio
  • Familiarity with HAZOP, HAZID, FMEA, Project Management Planning and processes for evaluating detailed design.
  • Experience with contract drafting, tendering process and evaluation as well as commercial requirements of Project management are advantageous.

Senior Shipping Analyst – Middle East

Our client is looking for a Senior Shipping Analyst to join their company in the Middle East.

You will be responsible for assisting in identifying potential business opportunities by conducting analysis and performing economic evaluations of various opportunities while developing and keeping track of key business indicators for on-going division activities.
 
Collaborating with people across all levels of the organization to report, manage and monitor key operational and financial performance indicators.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a shipping related discipline such as Marine Engineering, or any other related field.

 
Experience:

  •  Minimum 3 years of experience in a shipping related field with exposure to shipping terminology, charters and fundamentals such as standard voyage calculations and associated economics. 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Corporate Finance role in shipping or banking sector preferable.

Cargo Handling Supervisor – Middle East

Our client is looking for a Cargo Handling Supervisor to join their company based in the Middle East.
 
You will be Responsible for the management and supervision of cargo operations on vessels, including stevedoring and equipment management functions, relating to all aspects of cargo handling and logistics support services.
 
You will have comprehensive knowledge of cargo operations planning for dry cargoes and oil terminals and managing port labour. You will also have thorough knowledge of port operations contracts, port safety, accident prevention codes, regulations and marine industry governmental regulations related to ports. Experience of management and commercial use of dock areas, warehouse facilities and terminals is also required.
 
The candidate must possess either:

  • Deck Officer Class 1 1/1 certificate of competency with at least 5 years senior officer experience in oil, gas or dry cargo vessels and 5 years of port operations experience
  • University Degree with 7 years of experience within port / marine industry
