Spinnaker

We are collaborating with a leading shipping law firm in London, which is seeking a qualified trade and commodities lawyer with at least 6 years of litigation/arbitration experience in the UK or a commonwealth jurisdiction (with UK litigation experience). The firm will also consider applications from Lawyers with pure shipping experience.

You will be primarily responsible for handling litigation and arbitration matters. Litigation work will likely involve the Commercial Court in London and may involve managing proceedings in other jurisdictions. Arbitration work may involve institutional (typically ICC, LCIA, or SIAC), trade-related (typically GAFTA, FOSFA, or RSA/SAL), ad hoc, or on LMAA Terms.

The role will offer you an opportunity to develop legal skills as a contract lawyer, specifically in the sale, carriage, storage, and financing of goods. You will be working with clients in the energy, metals, and soft commodities sectors and will be exposed to drafting and advisory work.

In return, the firm offers a range of benefits for the employee and their dependents, such as private health and dental care. Additionally, they are also offering gym discounts, hybrid/flexible working, cycle and electric car schemes.
