Finance Manager, Montreal
We have partnered with an ocean shipping and transportation company based in Montreal to find their next Finance Manager. Reporting to the CFO, this international organise seek an individual to oversee and direct the shipping accounting functions; accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury and credit department across Canada. Responsible for monthly, quarterly and year-end closing, the implementation and monitoring of AP, AR, general ledger and credit. You will have overall supervision and accountability of the FI department; ensuring cost is controlled and revenue is collected. You will manage day-to-day employee relations in the department as well as liase with external auditors and global head office. You will also be a “SAP Key User” for training and system optimisation within the department. Logistics Manager, Florida

We seek a Logistics Manager in Florida for an ocean transportation and logistics company.

For this growing company you will be responsible for managing the documentation and logistics activities.

This role is customer facing, ensuring there are no challenges faced with the import or export of the shipments being handled.

You will provide outstanding customer service, adhering to agreed rate, ensuring all documentation is correct. You will ensure update are provided on shipments at all times and ensure a smooth import or export process through customs, liaising with the customs department of the country of destination.

Therefore, to succeed in this role you will have a background in logistics, ideally with ocean going cargo, but air cargo experience can also be considered.

You will ideally understand the nuances of the target market which is the Caribbean.

This is an excellent opportunity for an insurance professional to get stuck in and learn the ropes on the operations side of the business.

The client has an excellent reputation within the industry and you could become a part of their team. You will be responsible for insurance renewals and claims, most commonly crew, H&M and P&I as well as various operational matters, including planning voyages and supporting the crew.

Operations Manager, Houston

Spinnaker is seeking an Operations Manager to be based in Houston USA, with a worldwide leading operator of dry bulk vessels.

Your key tasks will involve planning bunkering, liaising with the vessel & port agents, providing voyage instructions and preparing relevant cargo documentation.

Ideally, you will have experience with a diverse range of dry cargoes and vessel sizes and understanding the related risks, possess a good understanding of charter parties in order to take responsibility for all commercial, operational and post-fixture matters.

The ideal candidate should have 3 to 4 years’ experience operating dry bulk vessels and be confident in their abilities.

Senior Dry Vessel Operator, USA

Our client is a successful, privately-owned shipping group with an international presence. They are currently looking for someone to join their operations team in New York.

This company provides vessels to some of the world’s leading commodity groups and has an excellent reputation with clients, banks and internationally within the industry.

In this role, you will be assisting with various operational matters, including planning voyages, contacting and supporting the crew, managing bunkering, efficiency and working with other interested parties such as stevedores and agent dealing.

You will be monitoring vessel routing and ensuring that incidents and disputes are reported promptly to the P&I or H&M insurers.

There is a strong and dynamic operations team and the office has a great team atmosphere.

You will have at least 5 years’ experience working for a dry bulk owner, ideally have worked with Panamax and Capesize vessels and have past experience with charter parties.

You will be proactive and enthusiastic.

Senior Operations Manager, Canada

An international Dry Bulk Owner/Operator is looking for a Senior Operations Manager to join their team in Montreal.

Ideally, you will have at least 7-8+ years’ experience in a similar operations role including managerial experience, dry bulk cargo experience would be beneficial. You will be working directly with the and vice president of operations on ongoing projects. You will supervise and manage operation services and personnel, involving cargo documentation, auditing, laytime and port disbursement, optimisation of revenue and approval of billings and payments including freight, contract claims and vendor invoices.

Problem-solving skills, positive thinking, continual improvement & development and the ability to control costs are needed for this role, you will also be required to motivate, mentor and coach your team requiring good leadership skills.
